Dayna joined Teach For America staff in 2006 as the head of development for the Phoenix region where she launched a growth campaign to double the size of the corps. Following this, she served as SMD, Regional Development supporting 10 regions with their local fundraising campaigns and as VP, Diversity & Inclusiveness during which she initiated the largest ever Latino Summit for staff, corps, and alumni. Prior to Teach For America, she helped launch the Los Angeles site of The Posse Foundation and held several internships focused on Latino electoral politics with the office of Congressman Xavier Becerra, Southwest Voter Education Project, and the 2000 Democratic National Convention. Dayna graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Political Science and M.A. in Sociology.
Vice President, Corps Member and Alumni Impact
Celia began her career as an educator in Los Angeles Unified School District and was named Teacher of the Year in 2003 for her district. Prior to joining Teach For America as the VP of CM and Alumni Impact, she was the Executive Director for Education Pioneer's Western Regions. Celia received her B.A. from Stanford University, her Ed.M. from Harvard University and Ed.D. from University of California, Los Angeles. She is an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Marymount University’s Graduate School of Education.
