Office Parking:
We will depart from and return to the Teach For America Office by bus. Parking is available in the building garage. Carpools of 3 or more people will receive complementary parking. All other cars are $10 for the weekend. 

Driving & On-Site Parking:
The Irvine retreat facility cannot accommodate cars on site due to additional facility rentals happening concurrently. Additionally, our contract prohibits any non-staff vehicles throughout the weekend. If you are unable to ride the bus, you must be dropped off at the retreat facility by 8:30pm on Friday evening and retrieved from the Jennings home at 2:15pm on Sunday. All corps members opting out of bus transportation must communicate directly with Experience Design Team (John).

Alcohol & Drug Free Facility:

  • Irvine Outdoor Educational Recreation Center is an alcohol and drug free facility. Individuals known to be consuming alcohol or under the influence of drugs will be dismissed from the retreat site. Appropriate action will be taken pursuant to policies outlined in the Corps Member Handbook.

dress code & materials:

  • Dress throughout the weekend is comfy-casual. We recommend dressing in layers.
    • Weather will likely be between 50-75 degrees.
    • We'll be inside for the majority of our retreat experiences. 
  • All other materials will be provided (notebooks, pens, paper, etc.).
  • There will be moments of free time (see agenda) so feel free to bring school work or LMU work if you'd like.

Family & PArtner housing policy:

  • If you will be bringing dependents to the retreat, we will make every effort to provide you with a dependent care support housing option. Please note that the retreat schedule is from 8:00am – 9:00pm each night and some corps members often arrange alternate care for their dependents for the duration of our retreats. Given this, we encourage you to learn more about the options and make educated decisions that are best for you and your family. Review the attachment below for more information.
  • If you are planning to bring a spouse/partner with you to corps member retreats, we will attempt to meet your needs, however, there are several requirements & space is limited. Please note that Teach For America will not cover any costs related to having your spouse/partner staying at the retreat. Review the attachment below for more information.
